How To Seal Stainless Steel Pipe Threads

The common stainless steel pipe connection methods mainly include extrusion connection, screw connection, flange connection, argon arc welding connection, rolling connection and groove connection.

Stainless steel pipe threaded connection, also known as screw connection, refers to the use of direct tightening of pipe fittings or pipes, the two internal and external connectors with tapered pipe threads are tightened, and the connection effect is achieved through the pressure seal of the connector thread (the same as the traditional screw galvanized steel pipe seal). Threaded connection is a widely used detachable fixed connection, which uses threaded connection pipes and pipe fittings detachable. The strength of the connection port reaches the allowable strength of the pipe body. It is easy to install, and the quality is stable and reliable. When the external thread interface is wound with polytetrafluoroethylene raw material belt, a little force should be applied; if the liquid raw material belt is used, the water leakage rate of the interface can be zero. Generally, when stainless steel pipes are connected, when the size is DN15-DN32, PN≤1.6Mpa, threaded connection is adopted.

When the stainless steel pipe thread connection is adopted, the following points shall be paid attention to to to ensure that the stainless steel pipe thread connection is sealed.

1. After the production and cutting of stainless steel pipe is completed and the cutting surface is polished and deburred, the automatic threading machine shall be used for threading and lubricating oil shall be used for lubrication. After threading, the pipe end burr shall be polished, the thread oil, water and metal chips at the pipe end shall be removed, and the surface of the pipe end shall be coated with food grade anti-corrosion adhesive.

2. Anaerobic sealant or liquid raw meal tape shall be used to seal the pipe end thread, and the screw in depth shall be marked on the pipe wall with a color pen at the same time.

3. Anti rust sealant shall be applied to the exposed threaded parts and surface scars of the connection.

4. The lined stainless steel composite pipe shall not be directly connected with the valve and the water nozzle, but shall be transited with the inner and outer screwed joints of the lined stainless steel. When it is connected with the copper pipe and the plastic pipe, the special transition joint shall be used, and it shall not be directly mixed with the galvanized pipe and the galvanized pipe fitting, so as to avoid secondary pollution.

When the joint is sealed with anaerobic sealant, the curing time shall not be less than 24 hours, and the pressure test shall not be conducted during the curing.
